Ok … this was really cool. I went out to Beaver Lake, located in Fort Rucker AL, for one of my random nature shooting days when, as I am walking around the lake, i hear a “Buzz, Thunk”. I look down and around me looking for the source of the sound and spot this. This Horsefly (Robber Fly) took down the Dragonfly! I couldn’t believe it. I had never seen or heard of this. If you look closely you can see that the Horsefly is actually HOLDING the Dragonfly’s wings; pinning it down. For those of you that do not know, Dragonflies only stand on their legs. They cannot walk on them. This dragonfly was through the minute it was taken out of the sky.
